Narrator:
JPMorganChase is investing in skills and training programmes across the UK that help people grow. Because people grow the economy. Here are some of our more recent impact stories.
Bethany:
Where I’m from, most people go into a trade, or they just follow what their parents have done. There’s nothing wrong with that. It just wasn’t what I wanted. The bursary I received focused on gaining skills outside of your education.
Hashir:
My work experience really gave me the knowledge and the skill set to be where I am now and progress into the future. I learned SQL, Python, public speaking, actually working on a team, communication. All those things that you can’t really learn by just reading a book.
Shanice:
I want to help build infrastructure and transit which is positive for the community. One of the things I loved was to be partnered up with a good mentor, and she would just give me the best advice that she could. I just felt seen, I felt that I could dream bigger and I would be supported in that.
Bruce:
I don’t think like other people do, but this program gave me the support that I didn’t have in school– to get help with CVs, perform in interviews, that sort of stuff– and then get a full-time career. For me, it’s always been about being independent, I want to get a mortgage, I want to have a life, have a family and be able to support them.
Hashir:
These programs really help these people to just be at the start line at least. And that can be life-changing for some people.
