POWER UP elevates the engineer experience through hands-on learning

Through POWER UP, the firm’s multi-day experiential learning event, technologists across our tech centers foster connections, enhance their skills and apply them in their day-to-day roles. In 2025, our eighth year of POWER UP offered over 650 sessions on topics such as cloud, AI, cybersecurity, quantum computing research and professional development skills that engaged thousands of technologists across the firm.

Year after year, POWER UP captures the ethos of our strategic pillars and JPMorganChase’s culture of learning. Read from this year’s attendees on how they maximized their skills and gained new ones through meaningful teamwork and idea-sharing.

Lju Lazarevic, Public Cloud Strategy, London

As a content owner and presenter at POWER UP, I had the opportunity to lead hands-on labs focused on upskilling our developer community in public cloud technologies. POWER UP proved to be an excellent platform for engaging technologists across the globe, allowing us to connect and share knowledge on a broad scale. The interactive nature of the labs fostered a dynamic and energetic environment, with participants actively collaborating and learning from one another.

Initially, the idea of running virtual hands-on labs alongside an in-person conference was experimental. However, the format proved highly effective, enabling greater accessibility and participation. Building on this success, other virtual POWER UP labs on topics such as agentic AI and resiliency are now on the schedule.

It was gratifying to see the developer community embrace new learning opportunities and to witness the positive impact of collaborative, hands-on education. The event underscored the value of continuous learning and innovation, and I look forward to contributing to future sessions that empower our technologists to grow and adapt.

I had the opportunity to host 14 sessions across India and the U.S. – Mumbai, Bangalore, Dallas and Hyderabad – where I discussed LLM Suite and AI agents while learning valuable leadership skills.

Leading a firm initiative dedicated to upskilling employees in data knowledge, I shared best practices for data transformation, AI/ML and LLMs from my ten years as a super-user of one of the world’s most popular data transformation tools. I enjoy playing a part in the firm’s culture of curiosity through POWER UP.

The speaking experience was nothing short of exhilarating – the adrenaline rush that we get in the POWER UP kickoff calls, the butterflies in my tummy which quickly turned into excitement when we start talking to our colleagues on all things tech and data, and last but not the least (I saved the best for last) – the joy of connecting with fellow technologists in person and building the future through idea sharing and collaboration.

One of the highlights of my career is getting to work each year with the POWER UP global team. Our eighth year was especially meaningful as we delivered outcomes aligned with our three core objectives: connect, learn, and apply.

We fostered community and collaboration for thousands of employees on a global scale, facilitating connection and developing a robust content track driven by our Global Technology strategy. Curated sessions – including topics such as AI, modernization, applied research, and our operating model – provided targeted learning for all levels – if you’re just dipping your toes into a technology topic or you know it like the back of your hand, POWER UP met technologists where they’re at and empowered them to keep moving forward.

Every year, we set out to deliver more impact for our global technologists. We’re committed to educating and inspiring our employees with thought-provoking content sessions and elevating the attendee experience so that they leave with new connections and new skills in their pockets. As we close out one year and start anew, I’m excited to continue to build on this POWER UP’s achievements, solidifying it as a cornerstone of the JPMorganChase engineering experience.
