Press Releases

JPMorganChase and the Women's Business Center of Utah (WBCUtah) today announced a $400,000 grant to expand access to help more Utah entrepreneurs access business advising and education, strengthen their financial skills and prepare to seek financing. The grant builds on a decade-long relationship between WBCUtah and JPMorganChase that has helped WBCUtah reach more entrepreneurs and help business owners access financing, start new businesses and create jobs.

The announcement was made at Chase for Business’s The Experience: Salt Lake City, where attendees can connect with other local business owners, hear from industry experts and discover tools and resources that support growth for their businesses.

Over the next three years, the grant will help WBCUtah expand one-on-one advising, interactive workshops and multi-week accelerator programs across the state. Through these programs, entrepreneurs can get help preparing loan applications, understanding their business finances and making plans to grow their businesses. WBCUtah expects to provide intensive advising and accelerator programming to approximately 3,300 entrepreneurs and reach 7,000 training attendees statewide.

“JPMorganChase’s philanthropic support will help us reach more entrepreneurs across Utah with the advising, education and hands-on support they need to build stronger businesses and pursue growth opportunities,” said Ann Marie Wallace, State Director of the Women’s Business Center of Utah. “For more than a decade, our work together has helped more business owners access the resources they need to become capital-ready, create jobs and contribute to thriving local economies.”

Helping Utah Entrepreneurs Build and Grow Their Businesses

The funding will support WBCUtah programs that give entrepreneurs practical guidance on running and growing a business, managing their finances and preparing to apply for financing. Programs will reach entrepreneurs across Utah, including women business owners, low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs and business owners in rural and underserved communities.

Key components include:

  • Loan Readiness Series: Hands-on support to help entrepreneurs understand what lenders look for, strengthen their loan applications and better prepare to pursue financing.
  • WBCUtah Online Academy: Continued expansion of self-paced educational resources, including new courses led primarily by Utah business owners.
  • Utah Women-Owned Business Directory: Expanded promotion of the directory to raise the visibility of women-owned businesses and help connect them with potential customers.
  • Statewide advising and accelerators: Expanded one-on-one advising, interactive workshops and multi-week programs for entrepreneurs throughout Utah, including rural and underserved communities.

Strengthening Utah's Small Business Ecosystem

The grant reflects JPMorganChase’s broader American Dream Initiative, which includes efforts to help power 10 million small businesses with the capital, coaching, tools and practical policy support they need to thrive.

“Utah's entrepreneurs are driving innovation, creating jobs and strengthening communities across the state," said Danielle Wright, Utah and Idaho Market Leader for JPMorganChase. " By supporting organizations like the Women’s Business Center of Utah and bringing business owners together through Chase for Business: The Experience, we’re helping connect entrepreneurs with the resources, expertise and relationships that can help them navigate challenges and pursue growth.”
