Columbus, OH – The Columbus Museum of Art has received a $1 million donation from JPMorgan Chase & Co. in support of the Museum's renovation and expansion. The gift will honor the late Bank One Corp. patriarch John G. McCoy, whose family has provided generous support to the Museum for decades.

"JPMorgan Chase, and its predecessor Bank One, have supported the Museum for as long as they've been part of the community," said Nannette V. Maciejunes, CMA Executive Director. "Their support has been key to the development of many of our learning initiatives. We've been fortunate to have them as partners as we pursue our shared vision for the development of programs that promote critical thinking and 21st-century leadership skills."

In addition to providing financial and volunteer support, JPMorgan Chase also donated a significant work from its corporate art collection to CMA. Columbus artist Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson's sculpture John T. Ward Transporting Fugitives in Columbus, Ohio to Freedom, 1800s is a showcase piece of Robinson's work.

"The Columbus Museum of Art is a landmark and a true point of pride for our community," said Jim Malz, Ohio market president at JPMorgan Chase. "It's wonderful to honor Mr. McCoy's legacy of leadership and generosity by providing this critical support for the Museum's future."

The JPMorgan Chase gift is an important catalyst to help the Museum reach its fundraising goal to support its expansion. The Museum's new wing is scheduled to open in the fall.
