Small Business Data Resources

Research-quality data on small businesses, including those from data from government, non-profit and private sector sources, can be dispersed and difficult to find. We have collected information on data sources as an aid to other empirical researchers interested in better informing the small business sector.

Researchers can sort the following searchable list of data sources on the US small business sector by data source owner type, owner, access to the data, data type, reporting frame, and the topics covered by the data sources. We owe a significant debt of gratitude to prior efforts to identify small business data resources by researchers at the SBA.
