City National first bank to offer trust services in Columbus
1950
Introduction of the Autobank - a standalone drive-up ATM vestibule
1968
First bank to offer credit cards outside of California
1969
24 Hour Banking introduced at Kingsdale/Upper Arlington branch with the installation of one of the nation's first ATMs
1974
$350,000 invested to open first Automated Branch Office featuring 12 Electronic Teller Machines connected to the bank's central computer
1978
Introduction of branch banking with first branch outside downtown Columbus and the nation's first dedicated drive-up bank branch
1980
Channel 2000 introduced. It allowed customer to pay bills and check their balances from home using their television and a telephone conversation
1995
Internet banking introduced. Customers could now complete routine transactions on their computers
1998
Merger with First Chicago. Headquarters moved to Chicago.
2004
Bank One and JPMorgan Chase merge. 12,500 combined employees in Columbus
2009
JPMorgan Chase announced its intention to add 1,150 jobs in Central Ohio, bringing total employment to more than 16,000
2014
Columbus is established as one of the firm's original Technology Hubs

JPMorgan Chase celebrates 150 years of innovation in Columbus with nearly 20,000 employees across all lines of business
