Research
J.P. Morgan's research provides clients with informed views and actionable ideas on economic indicators, markets, companies, and asset classes around the world. Our research is available through MorganMarkets.
Economics Research
Economic indicators are a staple for financial market participants and policymakers. Each day, the Economics team reviews the new information provided by the indicators to draw judgments on where growth, inflation, and asset prices are headed.
At J.P. Morgan, “data watching” – forecasting and analyzing indicators – is a core function, and one that has served our clients well for more than 100 years. We cover more than 35 countries each week and provide forecasts for hundreds of economic releases in our weekly flagship publication, Global Data Watch. Other key publications are Daily Economic Briefing, providing instant perspective of the day’s key events and our quarterly outlook, World Financial Markets.
Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments
Based on market dynamics, valuation and trading models, the Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments team makes trading and portfolio recommendations across asset classes to facilitate strategic and tactical positioning. Coverage also includes alternatives, such as rule-based investing, hedge funds, real estate, insurance-linked products, longevity, private equity, SRI, and infrastructure. The team produces the J.P. Morgan "house" view on global markets and cross-asset allocation. Flagship publications include The J.P. Morgan View and Global Markets Outlook and Strategy. The team also publishes thematic, thought-leading pieces under the Global Issues brand.
Equity Research
J.P. Morgan’s 400-plus senior analysts cover more than 3,500 companies throughout the world’s developed and emerging markets across all industry groups, focusing on both the large and small-mid cap sectors. Studying companies’ financial prospects and competitive position, the team provides actionable trade ideas, ratings and target prices to help clients outperform. Picks are put into context by our regional and global strategy teams, along with our views on preferred sectors, regions and names.
Our flexible approach to research ensures we are able to match the needs of all clients, whether they require investment recommendations within the global or sector context, or across the capital structure of a single firm. Our Climate Change Investment Research explores business risks and opportunities related to climate change – helping institutional investors understand how this may impact portfolio performance and risk assessment.
