JPMorgan's Cannella Inducted Into Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall Of Fame

Dec 05, 2007

On November 8, 2007 Margaret Cannella, managing director and global head of Credit Research and U.S. Corporate Strategy, was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame in recognition of her distinguished career. Cannella, along with S. Kenneth Leech of Western Asset Management Company and Robert C. Merton of Harvard University, was inducted at a dinner ceremony.

"This is a well-deserved tribute and we are extremely proud of Margaret and what this honor represents," said Steve Black, co-CEO of the investment bank. "Her analysis and advice have been trusted by clients for years, but it's her leadership and enthusiasm for tackling the industry's most challenging issues that inspire those who work for her and help keep JPMorgan's research in such high regard. She has broadened the view of credit analysis and pioneered the transformation from traditional research to provide investors with timely, tradable ideas across the capital structure."

The Fixed Income Analysts Society, founded in 1975, is a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to furthering knowledge in fixed income valuation and bond portfolio management. The organization established a Hall of Fame in 1995 to celebrate outstanding scholars, leaders, and practitioners in the industry. Past inductees include William H. Gross, Lawrence D. Fink, and the late JPMorgan Research Director, Eunice Reich, who Cannella considers her mentor.

Prior to her current role, Cannella was a top-ranked consumer and retail analyst, placing first in Institutional Investor magazine's annual All-America Fixed Income survey 12 times. She joined JPMorgan in 1999 from Citigroup, where she held positions in leveraged finance and global research. Cannella began her career at Chase Manhattan in Hong Kong. She holds a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia University.
