JPMorgan receives African Banker’s first ‘Investment Bank of the Year’ award

JPMorgan was awarded the first ‘Investment Bank of the Year’ award by African Banker magazine at a ceremony attended by Africa’s top bankers, finance ministers and central bank governors recently held in Washington D.C.

African Banker magazine is a new quarterly magazine dedicated to banking and finance in Africa.

Jon Zehner, head of JPMorgan in sub-Saharan Africa, said: “This award highlights JPMorgan’s undisputed success in the African market and strengthens and supports the Bank’s strategy to build on our presence in Africa. Our steady growth allows us to continue to invest in technology, human capital and expand our product offerings to further enhance our leadership position within this highly competitive marketplace.”

JPMorgan currently offers M&A, equity and debt capital raising services in Africa and has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Lagos. Today JPMorgan employs over 450 people on the continent.
