Our Community

Education

Below is a small sample of the many philanthropic organizations and causes J.P. Morgan is involved with and supports. Our ongoing engagement in these types of efforts enriches our culture as well as the experience for our employees.

JPMorgan Chase UNCF Scholars Program: This companywide program is dedicated to finding undergraduate students who have a commitment to diversity. The program is open to all students, regardless of race or ethnicity.  All applicants must have a commitment to diversity, high academic achievement and demonstrate leadership qualities. Each year, we select up to 20 students to join the program, and each receives up to a $10,000 scholarship, in addition to a summer internship.

J.P. Morgan School Mentoring Program: A program for gifted and talented young people from African/Caribbean backgrounds in London, it provides reading and math assistance to primary aged children, while the high school program pairs older students with J.P. Morgan mentors for two years.

Princeton in Asia: This non-profit organization affiliated with Princeton University annually sends recent college graduates to work in Asia.  J.P. Morgan has forged a partnership with PIA based on our shared commitment to Asia and our dedication to building vital communities in the developing world.  Through this innovative two-year partnership, a fellow pursues a proposed course of cultural and linguistic study in Asia during year one, followed by a year of working as a general Analyst at J.P. Morgan's offices in Asia during year two.

Robert Toigo Foundation: J.P. Morgan was a founding sponsor of the Toigo Foundation in 1989. The Foundation is dedicated to increasing the number of people of color in the wholesale financial services industry. It provides financial assistance, mentoring and summer internships and job placement services to the top minority candidates in business schools. J.P. Morgan works with the Toigo Foundation by providing mentors and career opportunities to Toigo students.

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity: In the U.S., the U.K. and Asia, J.P. Morgan works with SEO to place outstanding students of color in summer intern positions at the firm. Through its career program, SEO introduces talented undergraduates to the financial services industry and provides the opportunity to explore challenging and rewarding careers.

Teach For America:  J.P. Morgan is partnering with Teach For America to allow college graduates who have accepted offers from the Investment Bank in the U.S. to defer their starting dates for two years in order to join Teach for America, the first investment bank to do so. Teach For America, a non-profit institution dedicated to eradicating educational inequality, recruits recent college graduates to work two-year terms in urban and rural schools across the U.S.
